The training program is designed to organize and mobilize Community of Hope teams to carry out strategies for community development in their own community. Those who live and work in the community and the congregation from the community are valued as experts who design the plan and carry it out. This asset-based approach uses a series of questions that identify the vision, resources, needs, strategies and action steps.
The training sessions are designed to be conducted in five day-long sessions over a five to six month period. Training is done on location and involve three to five potential Communities of Hope teams. The training covers a variety of subjects which provide sufficient information for particpants to plan for their communities. Tasks and assignments between training sessions and follow up technical assistance to identify more specific training is provided as needed.
